Argentina's government has launched emergency animal health measures following the discovery of the new H1N1 (swine flu) virus in two pig herds.


The Law on the animal protection and welfare is on the agenda of the parlamentary assembly of B&H. This Law was prepared by the Vaterinary Office in co-operation with the competent authorities of the entities and Brčko District B&H. It is expected that this Law might be adopted by the end of the year.


The Veterinary Office and FAO organized the two-day simulation practice about the preparation for the fight against the avian influenza. The representatives of the veterinary medicine, medical services, civil protection, police forces and other services, from the entire B&H, participated in this practice.


Answering the invitation of the director of the Veterinary Office B&H Mr Nedić, the delegation of the Republic of Slovenia came today. They talked about the Slovenian experiences in the process of the numbering of the cattle and how to improve the same process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
