Action domain of the Department

The Department’s competence is to perform the following activities:

Prepares laws and bylaws pertaining to this veterinary area;
Monitors and harmonizes the regulations and standards with corresponding regulations and standards of the EU,WHO,WTO;
Prepares and proposes regulations on conditions and standards for facilities exporting animals and products of animal origin;
Prepares and proposes regulations on conditions and registration of facilities for production, slaughter, processing and storage of animals and products of animal origin;
Prepares the printing of veterinary-health documents (international trade) that are in use in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
Controls preparation of decisions, issued to confirm inexistence of veterinary-health obstacles for export of food and products of animal origin in BiH;
International cooperation;
Prepares annual residue control and monitoring plan.
