Can brucellosis be transmitted from person to person?
Brucellosis is rarely transmitted from person to person directly. Breastfeeding mothers may transmit the infection to their babies. It is also reported that it may be transmitted sexually. However, if a baby or person at risk are treated from brucellosis, the risk of infection will be probably eliminated within three days. Although it is not often, transmission can happen through transplantation of an infected tissue.
